2. Purpose of the Service

Photo Quilt Builder is an application that turns a photograph into a printable mosaic quilt pattern.

This version is a free, closed beta intended to test the application and collect feedback before its official launch.

Participation is limited to ten adults.

The beta may contain errors, limitations or malfunctions. The Publisher will endeavor to correct identified issues but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or an error-free service.

3. Registration and Participation

Registration takes place through the public beta registration page.

The first ten confirmed registrations are selected. Subsequent registrations are placed on a waiting list.

Registration does not automatically create an account or guarantee access.

The Publisher grants access individually and sends an invitation, which must be activated within 48 hours of being issued.

After this period, the place may be offered to another person.

Participation is restricted to individuals aged 18 or over.

Each account is personal and must not be shared with third parties.

4. Available Features

Each participant receives one free beta project.

This project includes Freeform features, including:

  • A choice of sizes, grids and color variations.
  • Access to the Color Manager.
  • Unlimited modifications to the project.
  • Unlimited PDF exports for that project.

These features are attached to the relevant project and do not allow the creation of an unlimited number of separate projects.

No payment is required during the beta. No subscription or purchase will be initiated automatically.

The Single Quilt and Freeform Quilt offers may be presented for information or product research purposes. Choosing an offer during the beta does not constitute a paid order.

5. End-of-Process Questionnaire

Participants agree to complete the end-of-process questionnaire to contribute to the evaluation of the application.

In the normal beta process, submitting the questionnaire is required to unlock the PDF pattern download.

Once the questionnaire has been submitted, the project retains the Freeform rights obtained during testing.

Participation in optional session observation through Microsoft Clarity is not required to complete the questionnaire or obtain the pattern.

6. Optional Session Observation

Photo Quilt Builder offers participants the option of allowing Microsoft Clarity to observe certain interactions with the application.

This observation helps identify navigation difficulties and issues with the use of features.

It requires separate, explicit acceptance.

Participants may refuse or withdraw their consent without losing access to the beta, their project or their pattern download rights.

Collection practices are described in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie and Tracking Technologies Policy.

7. Uploaded Photographs and Content

Participants may use their own photographs or images belonging to third parties, provided they hold the necessary rights and permissions.

They are responsible for respecting copyright and the rights of individuals depicted in photographs.

Participants retain the rights they hold in their photographs and personal content.

They authorize Photo Quilt Builder to carry out the technical processing necessary to create, store, modify and export their project.

This authorization does not transfer intellectual property rights to the Publisher.

Participants agree not to upload unlawful content or content that infringes third-party rights.

Photo Quilt Builder does not use users' photographs or creations to train artificial intelligence models.

8. Rights to Use Patterns

Participants may download, retain and print their PDFs to make their quilts.

They may make and sell physical quilts created from the generated patterns, including for commercial purposes, provided they respect any third-party rights associated with the images used.

However, unless specifically authorized by the Publisher, participants may not:

  • Resell generated PDF files.
  • Share or distribute these files to third parties.
  • Publish digital patterns on a download platform.
  • Commercialize the PDFs as digital patterns.

These restrictions do not transfer to Photo Quilt Builder any rights that participants independently hold in their photographs or personal content.

9. Promotional Use of Creations

Participation in the beta does not authorize Photo Quilt Builder to publish participants' photographs or personal creations for promotional purposes.

Any use on the website, in a newsletter, on social media or through another promotional medium requires separate, explicit authorization from the person holding the necessary rights.

10. Limitations of the Result

The generated pattern is an interpretation of the photograph as a textile mosaic.

It is not an exact photographic reproduction.

The result depends on the selected photograph, cropping, adjustments, dimensions, grid and number of colors.

Colors displayed on screen may differ from printed colors and the colors of the fabrics used.

Participants should check their preview, dimensions and printing settings before starting their quilt.

Technical issues may be reported to the Publisher.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any mandatory rights that may apply.

11. Duration and End of the Beta

The beta is scheduled to open on September 27, 2026.

Its duration has not been determined in advance. It will end after the testing phase and any necessary corrections, on a date determined by the Publisher.

Accounts, projects and Freeform rights obtained during the beta are intended to remain available after the official launch.

No automatic transition to a paid offer is planned.

The Publisher will inform participants of significant changes affecting their rights or projects.

12. Personal Data and Account Closure

The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

Participants may request account closure by contacting:

contact@photoquiltbuilder.com

Permanent account closure results in the loss of access to projects, the PDF library hosted by Photo Quilt Builder and associated rights.

Participants are encouraged to download their patterns before requesting account closure.

Requests relating to personal data are handled in accordance with applicable regulations.
