Cookie and Tracking Technologies Policy

Version dated September 23, 2026

1. Purpose

Photo Quilt Builder uses cookies and browser storage technologies to operate the application.

With the user's consent, it also uses Microsoft Clarity to analyze certain interactions and improve the user experience.

2. Storage Necessary for Operation

Photo Quilt Builder uses technologies including localStorage and IndexedDB to:

  • Maintain authentication.
  • Store language preferences.
  • Save certain projects and drafts.
  • Store photographs and previews on the device.
  • Allow users to resume their work.
  • Remember the user's choice regarding Microsoft Clarity.

Technologies strictly necessary to provide the requested service are not subject to the same consent requirements as optional behavioral analytics trackers.

Certain local data may remain after sign-out.

3. Audience and usage measurement — Microsoft Clarity

With your consent, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how Photo Quilt Builder is used and to identify any navigation or usability difficulties. Clarity is only activated after you agree, and you can refuse or withdraw your consent at any time from the analytics settings.

It is used to identify difficulties encountered during the beta and improve Photo Quilt Builder before its official launch.

The application does not load Microsoft Clarity before the user's explicit acceptance.

Refusal does not affect access to the service, questionnaire or PDF pattern.

4. Microsoft Clarity Cookies and Identifiers

Depending on the browser and Microsoft Clarity's operation, the following identifiers may be used after acceptance:

IdentifierPurpose
_clckStores a pseudonymous Clarity identifier specific to the website
_clskGroups multiple page views into a single session
CLIDRecognizes the browser within the Clarity environment
MUIDIdentifies a browser across Microsoft services
ANONCHKManages a technical indicator associated with Microsoft identifiers
MRManages the refresh of the MUID identifier
SMSynchronizes certain identification information across Microsoft domains

Not all these identifiers are necessarily set in every browser or session.

Technical cookie lifetimes depend on their nature and the configuration applied by Microsoft.

For data collected through Clarity, Microsoft documents retention of ordinary recordings for 30 days and up to nine months for certain data and particular sessions.

5. Consent

When accessing the beta, the user is offered two choices:

  • Continue without recording.
  • Accept and start.

Consent is freely given and separate from acceptance of the Terms of Use.

Photo Quilt Builder communicates analytics consent to Clarity only after acceptance.

The application does not grant advertising consent.

6. Withdrawal of Consent

Users may change their choice through Photo Quilt Builder's session recording settings.

Withdrawal disables Clarity in the relevant browser and stops subsequent collection according to the application's operation.

The choice is stored in the browser used. It is not automatically synchronized across different devices or all already-open tabs.

Withdrawal does not automatically delete data previously collected by Microsoft.

To exercise rights concerning personal data, users may contact contact@photoquiltbuilder.com.

7. Content Protection

Photo Quilt Builder uses masking mechanisms for photographs, certain account content and personal text fields.

Sensitive pages, including authentication, invitation, password recovery and administration pages, are excluded from observation.

These measures do not guarantee absolute anonymization.
